1. Enable Bluetooth wireless connection on your device.

  2. Launch the DCS app and grant the permissions the app requests. The DCS app will take you to the main projects screen.

  3. If there are projects already on app (“DCS APP” shown), they will populate on this screen.  Proceed to step 4 below if there is an existing project.  If no projects are shown, select the “Add New” button on the top right corner. This will open the New Project Screen.

  1. The project information must be filled out in full, with all items getting a number or a letter.  The image above shows an example of filling out this page in full.  Once the information is filled out, select Create Project.

  2. Once the New Project is created, select on the new project’s name (“DCS APP” as shown above in step 2).

  3. The DCS Main Project screen will open, with several options displayed.

  1. “<Projects” will navigate back to the Main Projects screen, which shows a list of all projects.

  2. “Export” will export the entire project to a .json file and save it locally on the device being used.

  3. “Scan” will scan for and detect all DCS Controllers or Connects within range.

  4. The Sprocket menu will open developer options menu.

  5. The “V1.06 (267)” listed at the bottom is the current app version.

  1. All DCS Controllers and Connects come with a MAC Address sticker.  The MAC Address sticker (shown below) is located by opening the low voltage door.  It is important to know the MAC Addresses prior to configuring the DCS with the app.

  1. To find and add the DCS Connects or Controllers to the project, select the “Scan” button.  This will bring up all the Connects or Controllers within range of your device.  In the image below, our MAC address is E0:E0:9A:F9:4E:78.

  1. Selecting the MAC address will connect to the DCS and initiate downloading data.

  2. If this is the first time connecting to the DCS, a log in screen will appear.  Out of the box credentials should be put in.

    1. Username: admin

    2. Password: admin123.

    3. Once filled out, the DCS will prompt you to change the password.  Change the password and select “Apply.”  This will navigate back to the DCS Main Project screen.

    4. If a new Firmware is available, but is not on the DCS device, a notification will pop up asking to upgrade firmware.  Selecting “Yes” will upgrade to the newest Firmware, selecting “No” will close the prompt, and keep the current firmware on the DCS.

    5. It is important that the DCS receives the latest data and shows “Received Latest Data Successfully” in green at the top of the screen. If it does not, see step9.1.4 below to re-download data.

    6. The DCS Main Project screen lists all the DCS Mac Addresses associated with that project.

  1. The “EO:EO:9A:F9:4E:78” is the DCS device MAC Address.

  2. The Orange Sprocket  will enter the main configuration screen.  This is the screen to configure the components connected to the DCS.

  3. The Green Sprocket  will enter the main settings menu.  This is the screen to configure settings such as upgrade firmware, upgrade Bluetooth, etc.  Reference the “Steinel DCS App Settings Sprocket” section for more information.

  4. The Blue Download Button downloads the data on the DCS app.  Data must be downloaded every time the DCS is connected to, or any updates to the DCS are done.

  5. The “Disconnect” button is shown when a DCS is currently connected to.  By selecting Disconnect, the DCS would no longer be connected to.

  6. The “Delete” button removes that DCS from the list of DCS Mac Addresses for that specific project (DCS APP project as shown above).

  7. The “DCS APP” shown under the MAC address is the name of the DCS.  To change the name, tap on the MAC address and “Rename” pop-up will appear.  Type in the new name for the DCS and select “OK”.  The name change will now appear on the main screen.
