1. The Green Settings Sprocket  allows for changing several settings on the DCS Controller or Connect.

  2. The List of settings /selections are:

  3. “Bus Reset”

  4. Bus Reset will reset the DCS data line and restore all of the devices on the DCS bus (sensors, switches ,etc.) to factory out of the box settings. This will have no affect on any name changes, or Load assignments to the line voltage configurations in the DCS.

  5. “Manage Bus”

  6. “Factory Reset”

  7. Factory reset will bring the DCS back to Factory Settings, both on the line voltage configuration side and the low voltage side.

  8. “Time Synchronization”

  9. Time Synchronization will sync the time on the configuring device, to the DCS it is connected to.  This is required when creating time schedules within the DCS.

  10. To properly sync time, first check mark “Day light Saving” if in a Daylight Savings area.

  11. Next, select “Sync Time”

  12. A prompt will ask “Are you sure to sync time?”  Select “Sync”.

  13. Ensure a “Received Latest Data Successfully” notification pops up at the top.

  14. “Astronomical Time”

  15. Astronomical Time will link take the configuring devices GPS location and send it to the DCS.  This is required when doing any Dusk to Dawn time schedules.  To properly sync astronomic time, Location Settings must be enabled on the configuring device.

  16. “Sensor Status”

  17. Sensor status will show the status of the occupancy sensors connected to the DCS data line, with are fresh rate of 10 seconds.

  18. Green status = Sensor is detecting occupancy.

  19. Red status = Sensor is not detecting occupancy.

  20. “BACnet Info”

  21. Please reference “BACNET SETUP” Section for more information on BACnet Capabilities.

  22. “Energy Monitor”

  1. “PIC Firmware”

  2. PIC Firmware will show the current Firmware version, as well as give the option to upgrade to the newest firmware.  The newest available firmware from Steinel will be embedded into the current app from the App Store.

  3. Current Version of the app is shown at the bottom, next to Current Version.  It will be shown as “PIC_X_X_X” where the X’s are the firmware version.  IE – PIC_3.3.6is Firmware version 3.3.6.

  4. To upgrade firmware:

  5. Choose “Select”

  6. A list of .hex files will appear.  The latest firmware will show as“PIC32_X.X.X.hex” where the “X’s will be numbers.  IE – PIC32_3.3.6.hex”.

  7. Select the .hex file.

  8. Select “Load” on the pop-up window.

  9. The Firmware will now show up under “Selected File.”

  10. To update the firmware –select “UPDATE”

  11. Firmware updates take anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 minutes per device, depending on how old the current firmware is.  During this time, it is important to not let the phone time out, or lose connection, as this could cause the device to enter a crashed status.

  12. Once the Firmware upgrade is completed, the DCS will reboot itself.

  13. Firmware upgrades should also be coupled with BLE upgrades.  See BLE Preload Firmware section below on how to upgrade BLE.

  14. Both PIC firmware upgrades AND BLE upgrades should be followed with a Factory Reset of the DCS.  See above on how to Factory Reset a DCS.

  15. “Change Password”

  16. Change Password allows users to change the current password for the app.

  17. “Change Username”

  18. Change Username allows users to change the current username for the app.

  19. “Mesh Network Reset”

  20. Mesh Network Reset removes the network key from the current DCS, as well as removes it from any mesh network it may be associated with. Please reference the “HOW TO MESH DCS CONTROLLERS” section for more details on DCS Mesh instructions.

  21. “BLE Preload Firmware”

  22. BLE Preload Firmware will show the current BLE firmware version, as well as give the option to upgrade to the newest BLE version.

  23. Current Version of the app is shown at the bottom, next to Current Version.  It will be shown as “BLE_X_X_X” where the X’s are the firmware version.  IE – BLE_2.0.3is Firmware version 2.0.3.

  24. The newest BLE firmware’s are embedded into the newest release of the DCS App.  If new firmware is available, it will be listed under the “Files List”.

  25. To upgrade the Firmware, select the .zip file.

  26. A pop-up will show to load the file.  Select “Load”.

  27. By selecting Load, BLE firmware upgrading will be initiated. This only takes a few minutes.

  28. Once BLE firmware is completed, as with a PIC Firmware upgrade, a Factory Reset is recommended.  See above on how to Factory Reset a DCS.

  29. “Sensor Technology”

  30. Sensor technology allows the user to change the settings of the Occupancy sensors on the DCS data line.  The changeable settings are:

  31. DCS DT QUATTRO SENSORS:

  32. Ultrasonic Coverage- The overall Ultrasonic Coverage

  33. This can be adjusted from 0% to 100%.

  34. Trigger Initial – The sensing technology used to turn lights ON when occupancy is detected.

  35. US – Ultrasonic Only

  36. Either – Either Ultrasonic of PIR can trigger motion

  37. PIR – PIR Only

  38. Both – Both Ultrasonic and PIR are required to trigger motion.

  39. US QUATTRO / HALLWAY SENSORS

  40. IR QUATTRO HD SENSORS

  41. “Holiday List”

  42. “Device Restart”

  43. “Device ID”
